Zaver is a fast-growing fintech-startup based in Stockholm. At Zaver, we develop innovative payment solutions to accelerate the revolution of mobile payments for the underserved markets. The first pitstop in our journey is to replace physical card readers & legacy-checkouts with a lightning-fast experience.

Job Description

You will play an essential role in developing the Zaver payments platform with next-generation products and features. You’ll get to work with everything from credit risk assessment and our in-house developed banking back office platform, to customer-facing front-ends. As part of a small team, you’ll get to have a big influence on our architecture and focus on scalability and reliability. You will get to work with maintenance of a growing product, as well as developing new features in our backend. 

As we're a fast-paced startup, we do away with office politics and slow release procedures. The best ideas win and your code will be live in a matter of hours or even minutes and affect the whole customer base. You will work in close collaboration with amazing people, use new technology and break new ground in the payments space by shipping products far better than anything else in the market.

You’ll get to work with technologies such as Java, Spring Boot and PostgreSQL, but will occasionally get to familiarize yourself with our Angular web frontends.

• Take part in different stages of the product life cycle: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

• Guide colleagues towards better solutions and patterns in your areas of excellence

Who you are

We believe you have a solid background in software development, where you have worked with a broad range of technologies. You have seen and done your fair share of problem solving, and have the battle scars to show for it. You are self-directed and comfortable working in a fast paced environment where priorities change and requirements are not set in stone.

For us it is more important that you have the right attitude and spirit rather than specific experiences. We are looking for go-getters who are willing to roll up the sleeves and get things done. You are a person who wants to work with the latest technologies and make an actual difference.

You are focused, executional and a team player. No issue is too small or too big - you’ll do whatever it takes to find a solution. You aim to make solutions as simple as possible, but not simpler.

You have worked in backend services for a couple of years and are well versed in some of the appropriate languages, frameworks and patterns in this area. You write well-structured and bullet proof code, sufficiently exercised by tests and can track down and debug any problem that you encounter.

Experience in the following areas is considered a bonus:

• Java
• Spring Boot
• PostgreSQL
• Test-driven development
• JPA
• DevOps
• Kubernetes

Experience with similar backend technologies(like C# & MVC and Entity Framework or NodeJS) is also beneficial. Your exposure to the challenges of backend development and ability to learn is more valuable to Zaver than any previous specific technological expertise.
